The famous novel by Leo Tolstoy, inspired by true events, tells the story about the power of passion capable of breaking the barriers of social convention. Anna Karenina, a woman full of desire and emotion, dazzling in her extraordinary beauty and elegance, is hypocritically unable to conceal her love affair with the young officer, Alexei Vronsky. She leaves her husband, thus not only losing her position in society but also painfully loses the opportunity to see her son. It is only a matter of time before her self-destructive love becomes a burden for the man she loves...

The immortality of this story is proven by the number of film, theatre and ballet adaptations in which the character of the tragic heroine has been portrayed by many famous artists. In this production presented by Ballet of the J.K. Tyl Theatre, Pilsen you can look forward to seeing Zuzana Pokorná or Michaela Musilová in the title role.
