Ballettsolist des Nationaltheaters Brünn
Michal Pimek joined the Ballet of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc in 2002 where he was a soloist for two years. There he performed a variety of roles such as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Basilio in Don Quixote and Louis Dupont and Henri Contet in Edith Piaf.
Since the 2002 season he has been a soloist of the Ballet of the National Theatre Brno. He excels in character and dramatic roles in both the classical and contemporary repertoire. He has portrayed roles including Franz in Coppélia from Montmartre, Romeo and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, The High Brahmin in La Bayadère, Harmodius and Crassus in Spartacus, Birbanto in Le Corsaire, Théo Sarapo in Edith, the Little Sparrow from the Suburbs, Prince Kurbsky in Ivan the Terrible, The Man in The Rite of Spring, Thyrsis in Sylvia and Jura in Ballads. He also dances principal roles in the great classical ballets such as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker Prince in The Nutcracker, Albrecht in Giselle and Jean de Brienne in Raymonda.
He won the prestigious Phillip Morris Flower Award in 2001. In 2006 he won 2nd prize at the 2nd International Ballet Competition in Brno and successfully participated in the New York International Ballet Competition.
