The Janáček Opera has the most nominations for the Opera Plus award

The Janáček Opera of the National Theatre Brno has the most nominations for the Annual Opera Plus Awards. The readers of this specialized website have until mid-October to decide who will be awarded in the female and male categories. Of the 31 nominations there are ten male and female singers who performed thirteen different roles for the Janáček Opera NTB from last autumn until the end of last season.

Based on the voting of six Czech theorists and journalists, the nominations from the National Theatre Brno for the Annual Opera Plus Awards are the following:

Markéta Cukrová – Pilgrim (Kaija Saariaho: L'Amour de loin)

Katarina Giotas – Judith (Béla Bartók:Bluebeard's Castle)

Václava Krejčí Housková – Isolier, Kate (Gioachino Rossini: Le comte Ory, Antonín Dvořák:The Devil and Kate)

Katarína Karnéus – Woman (Arnold Schönberg: Expectation)

Pavla Vykopalová – Clémence, Káťa (Kaija Saariaho: L'Amour de loin, Leoš Janáček: Káťa Kabanová)

Jaroslav Březina –  Jirka the shepherd (Antonín Dvořák: The Devil and Kate)

Roman Hoza – Raimbaud, Jaufré Rudel (Gioachino Rossini: le comte Ory, Kaija Saariaho: L'Amour de loin)

Anders Lorentzson – Bluebeard (Béla Bartók: Bluebeard's Castle)

Sung Kyu Park – Enzo Grimaldo (Amilcare Ponchielli: La Gioconda)

Magnus Vigilius – Boris Grigorievich (Leoš Janáček: Káťa Kabanová)
