After graduating from the Brno Conservatory, soprano Martina Králíková continued her vocal training at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno. She participated in several competitions winning 1st place in the National Competition of the School of Arts (Lidová škola umění) in Pardubice in 1989; 2nd place in the Competition of Czech Conservatories in Pardubice in 1995 and 1st place in the Leoš Janáček International Competition in Brno in 1996.
Already during her studies she became a member of the Opera of the National Theatre Brno, with whom she has participated in many international tours including Japan, Spain, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Germany and Austria. She has performed many roles with the Janáček Opera such as Karolka (Jenufa), Papagena (Papageno Plays the Magic Flute), Kitchen Boy (Rusalka) and the Maid (The Excursions of Mr. Brouček to the Moon). Between 2003 and 2004 she was a guest artist at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň. She also performs frequently in concerts having more than 200 concerts to her credit both in the Czech Republic and abroad including Hamburg, Vienna and Budapest.
