BaLéto at the Bishop’s Court
Once again we will have the NdB Open Air Ballet at the Bishop’s Court. The audience will have the opportunity to see both the full-length Romeo and Juliet and a specially mixed Ballet Cocktail.
Romeo and Juliet
For three nights, the National Theatre Brno Ballet will perform Shakespeare’s most famous love story Romeo and Juliet, in a specially adapted open air version. Neoclassical choreography by Mario Radačovský, directed by Martin Glaser, set design by Mark Hollý and costumes by Alexandra Grusková, set to the beautiful music of Sergei Prokofiev. The hatred of the rival Capulet and Montague families, the pure love of the young lovers Romeo and Juliet, the duels to the death – all this combined with the magical atmosphere of summer under Petrov.
Ballet Coctail
The Ballet Cocktail will be mixed up in a truly colourful way this year. It will offer a selection of classic pas se deux that can be seen at prestigious galas, as well as modern choreographies. The Gnawa title by one of the world’s most prominent contemporary choreographers, Nacho Duato, is sure to be an attraction. Audiences had the opportunity to see Gnawa choreographed years ago as part of the 4 Elements evening at the Mahen Theatre. Now, this spirited piece inspired by Moroccan folklore will be performed under the night sky, heralding a powerful experience. And of course, the Ballet Cocktail cannot miss our junior dancers, who will perform one of their premiere choreographies at the Bishop’s Court.
