PROGRAMME 1

The first performance of the new junior company Ballet NdB 2 – a unique project founded at the beginning of the season 2022/2023. Junior dancers of Ballet NdB 2 will showcase themselves in three unique choreographies under the direction of a long-time demisoloist of Ballet NdB, Uladzimir Ivanou, and the ballet master Markéta Pimek Habalová. 

The programme will start with Uroboros by Uladzimir Ivanou. The name of the ancient symbol, which represents the cyclical nature of things, time, and the endless uninterrupted course of life, which includes the eternal struggle between good and evil, became the theme for the choreography of Uladzimir Ivanou. The dynamic performance will accompany an unusual fusion of electronic and Far Eastern music by Chronomad and Murcof.

Markéta Pimek Habalová, the ballet mistress of Ballet NdB, has entered a new creative chapter after her recent success with Cinderella. For her choreography The Water Goblin, Pimek Habalová draws inspiration from a tragic story of the ballad from the iconic poetry collection The Bouquet by the Czech writer Karel Jaromír Erben. The piece is set on the music of the world’s most performed Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.

With the importance of the first performance of the junior company, the pair of choreographers is joined by the Artistic Director of the Ballet NdB, Mário Radačovský. In the choreography On the Beautiful Blue…, accompanied by the music of Johann Strauss jr., he will present the qualities of this promising young company, where movement and speed are the main attributes.
