Charity Ballet Gala evening

In October, the Janáček Theatre will host an exceptional artistic project with an extraordinary social impact. The NdB stage will host the second annual ballet gala in support of the Masaryk Cancer Institute with the participation of ballet stars from Europe’s most prestigious theatres. The project was created to improve the quality of care for cancer patients. Events like this not only raise funds to provide and support treatment, but also spread awareness of cancer and generate solidarity among people. The art of ballet has the power to touch the hearts of audiences and convey an emotional message, making it an ideal vehicle to further such a cause.

The first annual benefit gala was a great success. The Dance for Life evening and the subsequent fundraiser raised CZK 714,815 for the Masaryk Cancer Institute. Thanks to this amount, the Masaryk Cancer Institute was able to purchase six positioning beds with scales with a total value of CZK 1,200,000.

This extraordinary project is accompanied by an exceptional level of ballet gala. It is gratifying that the stars of Europe’s leading ballet companies understand the importance of this event and have promised their participation with unprecedented willingness. The programme is exceptionally rich and, as last year, will offer a balanced mix of classical, neo-classical and contemporary ballet.
