Momona Sakakibara
First soloist of the Ballet NdB
Momona Sakakibara was born in Kyoto, Japan.
At the age of three, she began her ballet training at the Misako Hiroyama Ballet School in Japan, later continuing her studies at the Munich International Ballet School in Germany.
She has won several prizes, including First Prize at the 2014 Wien Welt Wettbewerb in Austria, the 2015 World Ballet Competition Open in Romania, the International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition in Italy, and the 2016 Vienna International Ballet Experience in Austria.
She has been a member of the Ballet of the National Theatre Brno since 2017.
She was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2022, Soloist in 2023, and Principal (First Soloist) from the 2025/2026 season.
