Nela Karolína Sojková
Nela Karolína Sojková graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 2025 under the guidance of Yvona Škvárová, in whose class she has been also studying at the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague since 2023.
She regularly places among the top winners at international competitions.
She won first prize in the Opera Promises category at the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary in 2024.
She was also awarded 1st prize at the Rudolf Petrák International Singing Competition in Žilina in 2026, and in the same year she advanced to the final round of the AsLiCo International Singing Competition in Como, Italy, where she competed for roles from Verdi’s operas Rigoletto (Gilda) and Un ballo in maschera (Oscar).
She also won first prize at the Olomouc International Singing Competition in 2024, the Allegro Art Competition in 2024, and the Leo Clemens Competition in 2023, where she won first prize in the Dramatic Works category.
She considers her greatest achievement to be the first prize at the Lav Mirski International Singing Competition in Osijek, Croatia, where she was the overall winner of the entire competition.
While studying at the conservatory, she performed as the First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Estates Theatre in Prague as part of educational workshops, where she later made her debut in the role of the Queen of the Night at the same event. In 2024, at the Na Rejdišti Theater at the Prague Conservatory, she portrayed the cleaning lady Žaneta in a modern one-act farce by the emerging composer Marek Cimbál, as well as the First Witch in the opera Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell. A year later, she made her debut as Rosina in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville at the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
She is also actively engaged in studying opera technique and interpretation at masterclasses led by renowned singers and teachers such as Linda Watson, Margreet Honig, Simona Houda Šaturová, and Franz Hawlata.
