Sarah Ronešová

Sarah Ronešová is a soloist with the Ballet of the National Theatre Brno. She was born in Prague and has been pursuing a professional dance career from an early age. After completing the Preparatory Programme at the National Theatre in Prague, she continued her studies at the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City of Prague, graduating with her secondary school diploma and absolutorium in 2018. During her studies, she received several awards at international dance competitions, the most notable being a special jury prize at TanzOlymp 2017 in Berlin, third prize in the contemporary dance category at the European Ballet Grand Prix 2018 in Vienna, and first prizes in both the classical ballet and contemporary dance categories at the Award of Germany Stage 2018 competition in Munich. She further expanded her education with a year-long internship at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Since 2019, she has been a member of the corps de ballet at the National Theatre Brno, was promoted to demi-soloist in January 2024, and has been serving as a soloist with the company since January 2026.

Her dance expression naturally moves between classical elegance and contemporary expressivity. On stage, she has performed, among other roles, the Big Swans and Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, the Dark Angel in George Balanchine’s Serenade, a solo couple in the Waltz of the Flowers and the Spanish Dance in The Nutcracker, and the role of Mercedes in Don Quixote. She also feels at home in contemporary repertoire – she has performed in Jiří Kylián’s choreography Sleepless and in Nacho Duato’s works Gnawa and White Darkness, and portrayed the character of Lisi in the production of Cyrano de Bergerac.
