O sole mio
Italy is not only about famous operas, but also beautiful songs full of Italian temperament and radiant southern sunshine. The most famous is perhaps ’O sole mio, which gave its name to the concert itself. However, you can also look forward to the equally renowned Torna a Surriento by Ernesto di Curtis, the Neapolitan folk song Santa Lucia, or discover Gioacchino Rossini not just as an opera composer, but as a master of song.
Talented tenor Daniel Matoušek will appear at the concert not only as a superb performer but also as the author of the instrumentation for several of the songs. All this will be accompanied by the Janáček Opera Orchestra of the National Theatre Brno (NdB) under the baton of Chief Conductor Robert Kružík.
